Description

Nestled at the Paardeberg Mountain’s foothills in Paarl, Perdeberg Cellar thrives in the renowned wine-growing region of the Cape. Notably, our wines stand out due to our reliance on unirrigated, dry land vines, resulting in small, intensely flavoured berries and exceptional wines. Founded in 1941 by visionary Jan Rossouw, inspired by the area’s potential, the winery’s name honours the Cape Mountain zebras once abundant in the region.

Spanning over 3000 hectares across Paarl and Swartland, our vineyards benefit from diverse microclimates and soils, yielding wines with unique qualities. Through meticulous vineyard management, handpicked grapes, and cellar techniques blending art, intuition, and science, we craft exceptional wines. Our process mirrors traditional wine estate methods, emphasizing quality from vine to barrel.

Experience Perdeberg’s tasting room, where we elevate wine tasting to an art form with unique food and wine pairings. Indulge in unexpected delights like our cotton candy paired with bubbly, a whimsical combination sure to delight your palate. For a more savoury experience, savour our biltong paired with carefully selected wines, highlighting the rich flavours of both. As the home of Chenin Blanc, our pride lies in The Dry Land Collection Barrel Fermented Chenin Blanc, a testament to our heritage. Other favourites include the robust Endura Cape Blend, the refreshing Vineyard Collection Grenache Blanc, the crisp Classic Collection Sauvignon Blanc, and the bold SSR Red Blend.

ETHICAL & SUSTAINABLE FARMING
AT PERDEBERG WE ARE COMMITTED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE THROUGH BEING GOOD TO THE EARTH AND GOOD TO OUR PEOPLE.

We invest in our people and empower them with opportunities to make a positive social and environmental impact. A selection of internship programmes also offer young people work experience, training and mentorship in the various areas of our business. Fairtrade (FLSA) accreditation is held by our key producers, ensuring that a high standard of ethical and sustainable farming activities is maintained throughout the entire production chain.

We uphold our dedication to “think green” through various efforts that support sustainable farming with biologically controlled methods like the use of natural enemies to suppress mealy bugs avoiding chemical use. Our dry land viticulture practices also support the use of minimal water as we believe in the conservative use of our country’s natural resources.

All red wines are vegan-friendly as no animal by-products are used in the production process of these wines. We are also constantly reinvesting in new resources and technologies that will see the expansion of vegan-friendly products in our ranges.
