#ProePaarl: Exclusive Food and Drink Experiences in the Paarl Wine Route

This August, renowned wineries of Paarl invite you to experience a culinary journey into Cape Winelands dining other with the #ProePaarl experience. Visit one of the wine farm restaurants on the Paarl Wine Route for limited 2- or 3-course lunch menus highlighting the unique tastes of the area.

How does #ProePaarl work?
The Paarl Wine Route is one of the oldest and most renowned wine regions in South Africa and is celebrated for its rich history, diverse wine offerings, and beautiful landscapes. #ProePaarl (translating to #TastePaarl) is a series of special set menus for lunch running at selected wine farms in Paarl.
The concept gives Cape diners a chance to explore the authentic Winelands food culture without breaking the bank. All reservations can be made via Dineplan.
Rhebokskloof Estate
The restaurant at Rhebokskloof Estate is one of the few dining spots in Paarl that serves breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. Dine underneath massive oak trees when the weather is good, or head indoors and cosy up to the renovated interiors.
For #ProePaarl, the culinary team have curated a set menu that ties together both traditional and contemporary cuisine for lunch. Start with crispy fried Cantonese-style squid with homemade aioli. Mains promise a hearty lamb bredie or waterblommetjie bredie (made with an edible Cape pondweed flower indigenous to the Western Cape) served with fragrant basmati rice to beat the last few weeks of winter blues. End with Ouma’s classic cheesecake plated beautifully with vanilla ice cream.
Guests have the option to choose a two-course or three-course lunch set menu.

Perdeberg Winery
The bistro-style eatery at Perdeberg Winery is one of the more popular wine farms for families to unwind. Here you’ll tuck into tried-and-tested dishes made from locally sourced produce, an award-winning selection of wines and their very own craft beer.
Children can play in the fun garden area and on weather-permitting weekends, they’ll set up a jumping castle.
Their #ProePaarl set menu gives you the option of a two-course or three-course lunch with wine pairing only for the month of August 2024.
Starter options include pan-fried squid with garlic aioli and light herb salad, Camembert, caramelised onion and fig spring rolls and much more.
Choose between a crispy chicken schnitzel, Eisbein served with parmesan mash and sauerkraut, and pan-fried hake with tartare sauce among others for mains. Vegetarians can enjoy layers of aubergine, Parmesan, tomatoes, and mozzarella baked until golden instead.
You can’t go wrong with freshly baked malva pudding for dessert, Perdeberg restaurant serves theirs with vanilla ice cream and Amarula. Alternatively, opt for a slice of cake of the day.

The Manor Restaurant at Nederburg Wines
Experience cosy dining next to a fireplace at one of the most iconic wine farms in Paarl. The Manor restaurant at Nederburg Wines oozes pure class with stylish interiors and inventive dining under the chef’s team.
The #ProePaarl menu promises a fusion of Mediterranean and South African flavours. Try dishes like Confit pork belly roulade with Savanna mustard sauce, apple, butterbean mash, seasonal vegetables, and candied bacon. Finish with a decadent dark chocolate torte with white chocolate mousse and freeze-dried berries or a salted caramel cheesecake with touches of orange, candied popcorn, pretzels, and Chantilly cream.
